I need even crave Pilates every week to keep me limber and in tune to get through my week. I work on my feet all day and doing long hours in the operating room. Gaby does a great job keeping me in line with each exercise and doing the right thing to keep me safe. Pilates is a sustainable and safe choice for my body which allows me to keep coming back with regularity. I can’t say enough about how great I feel after each session. Diskin Pilates is a great place to get a solid workout that you can enjoy without killing yourself and allow you to keep coming back.

Since moving to the East Bay area from Chicago, I have had the privilege of working with Gaby on the Reformer twice a week, and within one year, have achieved dramatic results. Not only have I lost the last two “pregnancy inches” around my mid-region, the “post baby” me feels thinner, taller, and stronger than ever before. Pilates taught me to be more aware of my body, hence making better use of different areas of the muscle groups, and as a result, I am able to swim more efficiently, reducing the per pool-length stroke count by two. Encouraged by my experience, my husband also started training with Gaby, and his chronic lower back pain has since disappeared.
Gaby is a true professional. Her years of experience in the field of fitness, dance, and working with people from diverse backgrounds, clearly contribute to her being a magnificent Pilates trainer. While her approach is the rigorous authentic Pilates style, She is intuitive and respectful to the individual needs of each student, tailoring the routine to suit the individual. Gaby's live online mat class will give you the Pilates workout you need: core focus, lengthening and strengthening muscles, and fluid pace. Gaby trains her eagle eye on each of us so you can make adjustments for the proper form as you go. I started meeting with Gaby in mid-February, and I immediately knew she was the right Pilates instructor for me. She’s encouraging, working to grow your knowledge and abilities without being overly pushy. I have had two back fusions in the last few years, so I definitely have limitations and mobility issues. When COVID required us to shelter in place, we started with virtual private sessions once a week. Once I had the basics down, Gaby encouraged me to try a group class as a second weekly session. I couldn’t be happier. I’m getting stronger and more confident in my Pilates abilities, and I know that Pilates will continue to be in my future... into my 60s, 70s, and 80s (hopefully). My balance, which was really bad, has improved significantly. All this feeling good and strong has lead me to start my weight loss journey — down 18 pounds in two months and counting! I have been going to Gaby’s Pilates reformer class for years now. When COVID-19 hit, Gaby did not miss a beat and quickly transformed her in-person reformer class to an online mat Pilates zoom class. Mat Pilates is just as challenging if not more so than the reformer class so I continue to get the same level of workout and results. Gaby comes very well-prepared with her balanced routine of working the whole body including the core, arms and legs. All students participate by camera so Gaby makes sure we are doing the workout correctly. She tries not to single anyone out by name so you never feel put on the spot. Our fellow classmates are a lot of fun which provides community amongst Gaby’s students. Gaby will soon be offering a new class on Wed afternoon so I will really get my body in Pilates shape this summer.
